The auspicious land of India has always been the birthplace of gems, where the Tirthankaras and great men took birth and worked towards welfare through sacrifice, austerity and penance. Acharya Shri Virag Sagar ji was one of this kind, whose birth dignified and blessed the earth. He was born in Patharia village of Damoh District, Madhya Pradesh on May 2, 1963, the day of descent of the great Vibhuti of the era when the Sun was revolving on the highest point in Shashi path. There he received religious and basic education at Shanti Niketan Digambar Jain Institution for 7 years. He completed his education up to class XI and also passed the Shastri examination. Arvind ji took immense pleasure in doing muni seva and Jinendra bhakti. His sacraments kept increasing gradually and he kept happily moving on the path of abstinence. Acharya Shri Sanmati Sagar ji noticed him and provided him initiation of Kshullak on 2nd February, 1980 in Budhar village of District Shehadol, Madhya Pradesh. He was named Shri 105 Kshullak Purna Sagar and was only 14 years old at that time.
Kshullak Purna Sagar ji Maharaj had the desire to become a Muni(sage). His desire was fulfilled three years later when Param Pujya Acharya Shri 108 Vimal Sagar ji arrived at Aurangabad with his Sangha(union). On 9th december 1983, Acharya Shri provided him the initiation of Muni and at the age of 20 years Kshullak Purna Sagar ji became Muni Virag Sagar ji.
As a result of his hard work, meditation and the blessings of Guru Kripa, on the auspicious day of November 8, 1992, at Shri Siddha Kshetra Dronagiri, Muni Virag Sagar ji was conferred the title of Acharya by the society and scholars.
Impressed by Acharya Shri's immense compassion, splendor and aura, many Shravak-Shravikas took discipleship under him and dedicated their life to his service and that of others. The Virag Vatika is embellished with blooming flowers and buds and Acharya Shri is a great creative philosopher and thinker. His literature, which bears the impression of his deep contemplation, is mentioned below - Shuddha Yoga, Agam Chakkhu Sahu, Samyak Darshan, Samlekhna to Samadhi, how Tirthankaras came into being , Karm Vigyan Part 1 & 2, Chaitanya Chintan, Sadhana, Aradhana etc. A few years later Acharya Shri faced a big challenge, a challenge in which he marvellously succeeded. He showed the world how a humble saint can be a winner with unflinching results. The forgiveness and humility shown by him in this context turned out to be reflected in the history of ascetics. In the entire life of Acharya Shri, it seems that the impossible can be made possible with the strength of restraint and practice. The subtle combination of determination, willpower and timely opportunities played important role in making Acharya Shri's life a great one indeed.
