It is more than 1000 years old as per the artistic remains and the idols found under the earth. It is also proved that it is more old as per the Brahmi Scripts found in this remains. The Main Idol (Mulnayak) of Bhagawan Pradaprabhu was installed by Acharya Dev Shri Buddisagarsurisvar on 1974 Vikram Era in the newly built temple. The Idol of Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir was also installed by Acharya on 1980 Vikram Era. Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir, was a Kshatria King on his previous birth was a Kshatriya King called as Tungabhadra. This king protected his city from the robbers. For this he had a bow & arrow. So, the idol in this temple was engraved with a Bow and Arrow. Acharya Shri Buddi Sagar Maharaj built this Tirth. He thought that a divinely Jain deity is need to help the community for them to offer their prayers and to protect from evil. So, he did a penance (called Saadhna) for 3 days and using his divinely power assessed the divinely presence (Prathyaksha) Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir through the holy fire and Acharya requested him to protect the people. Acharya then draw the image and an idol was done from a rock found in the river side. Acharya Shri Buddi Sagar made the wonderful idol lively by using the Lively Power (Praan) into the idol. The 'Prasad' (food after being offered to the deity first) is called as 'Sukhadi' made up with pure Ghee, wheat flour and jaggery. The prasad has to be taken in the temple premises itself and the devotees are restricted to take it outside as it is inaspiciousShri Aglod Teerth, having Shri Veer Manibhadra as its moolnayak, is present near Mahudi (Shri Gantakarna Teerth). It is said that Jain Shashan Rakshak Dev, Shri Veer Manibhadra, gaurds Jains from all evil powers.
